A. "SANT ANDREU" CHURCH
"Sant Andreu" church was burnt down
in the summer 1936 and it was restored during 1938 to shelter the
soldiers. Some windows were opened to lit the place.
B. "CASA NOVA" - THE NEW HOUSE
The Major's of the base home and a garage to repair the
vehicles.
C. SHED OF "CAL SOLÉ"
Intendancy warehouse
D. BARN "MUNDETA"
Warehouse of clothes
E. "CAL FRANQUESA"
The hospital. It was a centre of first aid. In Ferran,
the reighbouring village, there was a hospital with more services, and
the military general hospital was in the University of Cervera.
F. "PURÍSSIMA CONCEPCIÓ" CHAPEL
A cultural centre. The music band of the base, drums
and bugles, rehearsed here.
G. PARSONAGE
Military office.
H. PARSONAGE
The refugee's home. The first refugees from Madrid
lodged here at the end of 1936. During the war many neighbours had to
lodge the refugees.
I. "CAL SERRA"
It was used as school before, during and after the war.
J. "PLAÇA DE DALT", SQUARE
Air raid shelter. There were four in the village. They
were used the soldiers and the civilians in the case of air alarm.
K. "CAL PARAIRE"
Prison.
L. "LA MOTA" CASTLE
An observation point and an antiarircraft defence were
installed here.
M. "CAL CASTELLER"
There was a library in the ballroom, where the soldiers
were taught to read and write.
